Surfin’ Mutants Pizza Party is the one-man bedroom punk project of 21 year old Quebecker, Julien Maltais. After fronting various black metal bands, Maltais decided to lock himself up in a bedroom and create music inspired by his love of DIY punk, California surf punk, horror, sci-fi flicks, comics, video games, and skateboarding. The end result is a colorful blend of throaty pop vocals, gritty instrumentation, and California punk aesthetics old and new.

Clocking in at just over a minute and a half, The Kraken is taken from his forthcoming debut The Death Of Cool and is a buzzy and addictive rollicking romp through ‘Lovecraftian Horror Punk‘ as Maltais pens an ode to the legendary sea monster that has terrorized ships and sailors since the 18th century.
